Sierra Regional Roller Derby is proud to bring roller derby back to Lake Tahoe! Catch the 12th Annual Deep Blue Tournament at Tahoe Blue Event Center on Sept 19th and 20th for 12 hard-hitting fast-paced games.

This is a family-friendly event, and there free general admission entry for children 10 years & younger! Bring the family!

Sierra Regional Roller Derby is the first WFTDA roller derby team in the Reno-Tahoe area. Established in 2013, we are a regional league comprised of members from all over our surrounding communities.

The Reno Gem & Mineral Society’s “Jackpot of Gems 2026” returns to Reno with three days of rocks, gems, fossils, jewelry, interactive educational experiences and family fun. It’s free admission for this Reno tradition, September 18–20, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Come discover why rocks really do rock—and experience one of the West's premier gem, mineral, fossil, and jewelry events!

The 2026 fall gala season for the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic Sleeping Beauty on September 19th and 20th at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the haunting score to this wonderful ballet. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Sleeping Beauty is the story of a beautiful princess who is cursed by the evil Carabosse. Professional dancers from throughout the country will star in the lead rolls along with the large cast from A.V.A. Ballet Theatre. Laura Jackson will be conducting the full orchestra.

The Saturday September 19th performance will be held at 7pm and the Sunday September 20th performance will be at 2pm. Ticket prices for adults are $32 to $65 with discounts for seniors and children. For tickets call the Pioneer Center at 775-434-1050 or on-line at pioneercenter.com. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 4pm.

A.V.A. Ballet Theatre is the resident ballet company of the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. They are northern Nevada's largest company under the instruction of a professional faculty with years of performing experience in renowned metropolitan ballet and production companies across the United States and Europe.

A 6-week Inclusive Music Program for Toddlers (18m-4 years) and their Caregivers.

Little Rainbows Music Play celebrates every child exactly as they are. The program welcomes children of all abilities, family structures, cultures, languages, and identities. Activities are sensory-friendly, adaptable, and emphasize joyful exploration rather than performance.
Each session encourages:
Music as communication
Social connection
Early language development
Gross and fine motor skills
Confidence and creativity
Parent-child bonding

Little Movers
A 6-Week Inclusive Movement & Dance Program for Toddlers (18 Months–3 Years)
Program Length: 6 Weeks
Session Length: 45 Minutes
Audience: Toddlers (18 months–3 years) with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver

Program Goals
Little Movers encourages children to:
 Build confidence through movement
 Develop balance and coordination
 Practice body awareness
 Explore rhythm and creativity
 Strengthen caregiver-child relationships
 Develop social skills through shared play
 Experience joyful movement in an inclusive environment
Every activity can be adapted for children with differing mobility, sensory,
communication, or developmental needs. There is no "right" way to participate.
